The main project will be a coat hanger. Sounds simple, but it does capture many of the basic skills of blacksmithing. Material management, drawing out, isolating material, making an aesthetic curl, punching a hole, symmetry, etc.

This class is centered around the clever techniques of ancient smiths melded with the minimal help of modern tools.
