Painting Workshop: “Tsagaglalal—She Who Watches”
June 13, 2026, 12pm-3pm
Instructor: Lisa Riversong (Wanapum/Yakama)
Level: All, Beginner-friendly (maximum 8 students)
Cost: $45 (includes materials, instruction and light refreshments)
Learn the Columbia River (N’chi wana) native story of Tsagaglalal (She Who Watches) and the basics of texture and design painting. This workshop will teach you the techniques to design a stunning wall art piece of the iconic petroglyph. Pre-stretched canvas offers a natural smooth canvas for painting, plus it includes a floater frame and all hardware.
What You Will Learn & Create:
Cultural Significance: Native storytelling, pictographs and petroglyphs of the Columbia River.
Art Techniques: Basic faux stone texture painting techniques and native formline design.
No Experience Required: Perfect for beginners and experienced alike

Drawing from Within
July 8, 2026, 10 am – 2 pm
Instructor: Eileen Holzman
Level: Beginner
Cost: $50 (includes materials and light refreshments
Pictures speak louder than words as our drawings created from prompts that Eileen will give to students. The drawings will illicit comments from the artist and then from the group. People will be able to share their drawings and communicate memories and feeling that may surface. This will be relaxing and enjoyable as we share our stories. Student is asked to bring photographs of their families copied so they can be cut up for artwork. A 30-min lunch break will take place. Please bring your own lunch.
What the student will learn: Students will learn about themselves and how some memories and dreams may have importance.
What will the student take home with them: Students will create several drawings, collages and the writings that were inspired by them.

Origami Class: Fun Folding!
July 18, 2026, 12 pm – 2 pm

Origami is often described as meditative, therapeutic, providing a creative outlet for stress reduction. This all-level class teaches the Japanese art of paper folding, transforming paper into decorative, geometric and functional shapes. This session will cover essential techniques, reading, diagrams, and fundamental folds. Engineers, architects and young children all find origami fun and challenging. Participants develop fine motor skills and spatial awareness while creating unique artworks to take home. A 30-min lunch break will take place. Please bring your own lunch.
